Nine Foot Clearance is a 4 piece Modern Rock band out of Nashville, TN.  Their sound has been compared to Alice in Chains, 3 Doors Down and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The band released their debut EP “The First Light,” in April of 2009 and spent most of the spring and summer promoting it through live shows in the middle Tennessee area.  “The First Light” showcases the 90’s rock influence as well as highlighting the intricate yet aggressive guitar work found in most of their songs.

The group was formed in 2007 by then guitarist Justin Forton, lead singer Greg Lawson and bassist Rod Hutchinson.  A year later lead guitarist Dale Smith and drummer Chris Szaroleta joined the group and the five piece began to work on writing material for the EP release.  In early 2010 the band continued on as a 4 piece and brought in Alan Hanna on drums.

The song “Empty Freedom” from the band’s EP has been played on local Nashville rock station 102.9 The Buzz.  “The First Light” EP can be found on iTunes as well as all other major online retail outlets.  A recent review of the music from GarageBand.com stated, “Professional recording with good production, up to caliber of stuff you hear these days on rock radio.  Good musicianship all around.”

The band is currently seeking opportunities to play 1 hour sets in the middle Tennessee area.  Their sets consist of a mix of originals and covers.  Opening gigs for other bands are also being considered.
